It is certified by the Guinness World Record and Double Galaxy as the world's largest LAN party and computer festival, with the world's fastest Internet connection and the most traffic. The Internet connection record was defeated in 2012 by The Gathering, Norway's second largest computer festival. Since 2015, it has been part of the digital entertainment company Modern Times Group. It usually hosts events in Western Europe and North America. Dreamhack is held every year in MTL.
